The home inspector shall observe and operate the basic functions of the following kitchen appliances, permanently installed dishwasher, through its normal cycle, range, cook top, and permanently installed oven, trash compactor, garbage disposal, ventilation equipment or range hood and permanently installed microwave oven.
Microwave Cooking Equipment
Inspect to determine on-off function of microwave, lighting and fan if present.
Ranges, Ovens, Cooktops
Inspect to determine on-off function of burners and ovens. Note any observed damage.
Refrigerator
Determine if the appliance is functional. Look for cool temperature in refrigerator and freezing temperature in freezer.
